Getting started

Dogear shelves a short illustrated guide, “Welcome to Dogear”, the first time it opens. It covers turning pages, the reading menu, your library, and reading on a foldable iPhone.

Open beta

Dogear is in open beta on TestFlight. Join the beta from your iPhone; Apple's TestFlight app installs it. Send feedback from TestFlight, or by email below.

Adding books

Tap + in the library to import DRM-free EPUB, PDF and comic book (CBZ) files from Files, or share a file to Dogear from Safari, Mail or Files. Books protected by DRM, such as many store purchases and library loans, can't be opened.

On a foldable iPhone

Closed, choose the Covers view: each cover fills the front screen, and a tap shows the library controls. Unfold the phone over a cover to open that book. Open, tap the middle of the pages for controls, or press and hold for the reading menu.

Dogear Pro

A one-time purchase that adds an unlimited shelf, comic books, three more fonts and two more page sounds. To restore it on a new iPhone:

1. Open any book, then press and hold on a page.
2. Choose All Settings, then Unlock Dogear Pro.
3. Tap Restore Purchase.
